Mike Everard –Guitar, Vocals
Having always had a preference for blues based rock and soul, Mike has been playing guitar since the age of 14 and this life-long passion is clearly understood today in his outstanding guitar work.
Early influences were Albert King, BB King, Eric Clapton, Rory Gallagher, Richie Blackmore, Zal Clemenson.  Mike spent a few years with Auckland bands playing the pub circuit before moving to Australia.
After a long break from playing, living overseas in London & Australia with career and children being the focus, Mike returned to New Zealand to live in Tauranga, resuming his music interests in 2011, forming local covers band Eclipse, which still performs regularly, and which includes his son Jason on keyboards.
Mike is a highly respected musician in and around the Bay of Plenty and has played with other local bands such as Chill Factor, Keel, Tuner and The Sid Attwell Band.
Feeling an real affinity with the music of Hybrid Blues, Mike was pleased to accept an offer to join the band and enjoys delivering blues with a difference.

At 11 years old Adam started playing bass at school and with the encouragement of his music teachers continued to develop his skills in various school bands.
His first live band experience came when his college music teacher asked him to join her band and they played at various venues around Warkworth, giving him a good grounding for live performing.  Over the years Adam has shared the stage and studio with many great musicians between Auckland and Tauranga and has been a member of long standing classic rock covers band “Shabang” for the last 8 years with his partner Denise.  As well as this Adam can be seen jamming with other local musicians and bands of different genres.
Adams says “I love the enjoyment of seeing people having a great time from the music we play”.
Adam has a passion for keeping the groove in the music he plays and is looking forward to bringing the low-down to Hybrid Blues.
His other passions include Motorcycling, Boating, Classic cars and being a father/step father of 5 kids ranging from 13 – 20, all of which are musically inclined.  He is even cultivating a family band!

Born 7/7/1967.
Linwood, Scotland.
I grew up listening to my parents record collection, everything from Patsy Cline to Dixieland to The Kinks and The Rolling Stones.
My first instrument was the accordion which I played at my first public appearance. A primary school concert aged around 10. Amazing Grace and Paul McCartney’s Mull of Kintyre. I’ll never forget it, the one and only time I’ve performed in a Kilt.
Drums however were my thing and I got my first kit not long after starting High School. Spent the time from then until the late 1990s playing with originals and covers bands throughout Scotland and England with varying degrees of success.
Moved to New Zealand in 1997 and immediately started a family so the drums took a back seat for several years although I’ve never stopped completely and continued to write and record with friends for the love of it.
Around 18 months ago I decided it was time to get back into it seriously and by chance ran into Mr. Adam Pendred along the way. From the very first jam we had I think we both felt a connection so when the chance to join up with him and Hybrid Blues came along it was a no brainer!
I’m very excited about the future with Hybrid Blues. It feels like a very good fit both musically and personally. Bring it on!
